Supply Chain Consultant
Location: Shanghai (China)
As a Supply Chain Consultant you have one goal: to provide the customers with innovative supply chain solutions that work.
You will become a reliable partner of the customer for the entire project lifecycle:
You will visit our customers on a regular basis, about 30% of your time. You start with analyzing their challenging planning needs. You will design a prototype, develop the model and optimize your solution. At all times you will work in close collaboration with your colleagues working on the same projects.
You will implement the planning and scheduling solution with our planning tools. You will validate it with the customer’s project team. Finally, you will train the customers in the use of their new advanced planning solution.
After a project implementation you will also support the customer, working together with the customer services team in Belgium.
Involvement in business development activities can also be part of your job.
As a more technical consultant you take care of the more technical part of the job, e.g. integration issues and customized algorithms.
You have a Master’s degree, ideally with a focus on Supply Chain Management, Production, Operations Research or Logistics. Experience in one of our target industries (semi process or mill products) is an advantage. Ideally, you have at least 2 years of working experience in the Asia-Pacific region, preferably in China. .
You need to have a strong affinity for IT, basic programming skills are required (any language). Knowledge about mathematical modeling is a plus, but not mandatory.
You are fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English and enjoy working in a multi-national customer-driven environment. Knowledge of any other additional language such as German, Spanish, French or Dutch is a plus.
You will receive part of your training in Europe during the first 6 to 12 months of your career and are willing to spend periods of up-to several weeks in Europe
You are creative and eager to learn, and you can work autonomously.
